MY SURVEY CONNECTION YOUR SOURCE FOR THE BEST FREE PAID SURVEYS ONLINE

Welcome to the Tips and Tricks Page!
Here You'll Learn How to Get the Most from doing Paid Surveys Online!

The goal of this page is to cover The Basics, so you'll know exactly what to expect from your new survey business.  You'll also be given some useful ideas on how to maximize your earning potential by being Honest, Organized, and Efficient, all of which are essential keys to realizing success with this, or any business.  Following the simple suggestions offered here should help you to achieve those objectives.

The Basics:  You'll soon discover that a big part of doing paid surveys online involves repeating several routine tasks.  Initially you'll need a User Name, or ID, and a Password for every site you apply to.  Most sites will automatically assign your email address as your log-in ID,  but not all.  For those occasions where you have to create one, try to always use the same alternative name if possible, and record it in your Survey Text File.  (More on this under Being Organized.)  Also, use the same log-in password, if possible, and be sure to record that, or the password assigned to you, in the Survey Text File you're about to create.

After you submit your application to a free survey site you'll be sent a confirmation email that you'll need to respond to before you can proceed.  Be sure to check your SPAM folder if you don't receive it quickly.  If you find it there, open it and add their email address to your address book, then mark that email as Not SPAM.  This will help insure that you'll receive emails from them in the future, before it's too late to participate in a time sensitive survey.  Once you confirm your application you'll also need to complete your profile to increase your chances of being invited to take surveys.

Every site recommended on the FREE Sites for Paid Surveys page has been tried, tested, and proven to be legitimate!  To get off to a fast start - apply to every one of them!  Why so many?  So you can get busy and start making some money!  The more paid survey sites you sign up with, the more opportunities to make money you'll have!  It's really as simple as that!

Over time you'll learn that some survey sites might only invite you to do two or three surveys per month, while others may offer you that many per week, or even per day!  In the beginning do every survey you can, as soon as you can, because they do have quotas, and they are time sensitive.  You don't want to miss out on a good paying survey because you waited too long!

As mentioned above, most survey sites have a Profile Section that they'll ask you to complete.  Some, but not all, may offer you an incentive, such as a Signing Bonus of up to $5.00 for completing your profile information.  Incentive or not, it's always a good idea to complete your profile with each site as soon as possible, and here's why.  That information is used to screen their panel members so that only those who are apt to successfully complete a survey are invited to participate in it.  It makes no sense for them to send a survey to a 22 year old, white, single, female, when they need information from a 50+ year old, black, married, male.  If you don't complete your profile you just might always be sorted into the "other" category, and never get invited to participate in a survey!  So take a few minutes to explore every site you join, check out every link they have, get familiar with them - and complete your profile!

So okay, let's say that you joined every paid survey site recommended here, and you either Bookmarked it, or added it to your Favorites, in a new folder named My Survey Connection.  You responded to every confirmation email, added the sender to your address book, completed all of your profiles, and got started taking surveys.  You did everything right, but then one day, after spending a few minutes working on a survey, you gave an answer that got you screened out.  It sucks, but it happens.  So then what do you do?  You move on to the next survey!

Making money doing surveys online is a process, and that's just one part of it!  Even after you successfully complete a survey it will still take some time for it to be validated before the credit is added to your bank with them.  This too is a part of the process, and it may only take a few minutes to validate your answers, or it could take up to a week or more.  The good news is that once you fill your Pipe-Line, the money starts to flow in on a regular basis!  My Survey Connection was created to give you the best pipeline to work with, but it's up to you to fill it!  A few hours per day - while watching the news or your nightly TV shows should do the trick.

Being Honest:  This section shouldn't even be necessary, but here it is just the same.  The temptation to give a false answer to complete a survey should always be avoided!  That's precisely why they all have a validation process!  If you get caught giving inconsistent answers you will not receive credit for that survey, and if it is deemed intentional, you may even be barred from doing future surveys for that site, which needless to say, is not a good thing!

Another thing you'll want to avoid doing is what is referred to as Speeding.  That too can get you barred from being invited to participate in future surveys.  What's Speeding?  From time to time you'll do a surveys that goes much quicker than you expected - that's the gravy!  By the same token, you might occasionally get a survey that seems to go on forever!  Fifteen minutes into a 50¢ survey that was presented to only take 10 minutes to do can be frustrating, and although the urge to rush through to the finish is strong, don't do it!  There are some acceptable tricks you can do to save time, which will be covered below - under Being Efficient, but some things are absolutely not tolerated!  Speeding is one of them!

Imagine a timer running in the background that you can't see.  It restarts with every new screen, and it knows the average amount of time required to read the questions there and reply to them.  If a block of questions is completed noticeably sooner than normal, it suspects that you're not reading the questions, and you may be disqualified because of it!

Most survey sites also use Speed Bumps.  These are special instructions that are embedded into the questionnaire that tell you to give a particular answer to a specific question.  If you fail to do as instructed, they instantly know you're not paying attention, or Speeding.  If you don't like a particular survey, then just leave it!  In the end, it's much better to lose a few minutes than it is to lose a good paying survey site!

Being Organized:  This too should be a given, but it rarely is!  The simple act of being organized is absolutely critical if you want to maximize your income potential from your
free - paid to do surveys business, or any other business!  Remember earlier when the need to create a Survey Text File was mentioned?  That one step alone can make a tremendous difference in the degree of success you attain with your new survey business!  Even the 'Survey Veterans' will benefit from this tip!

Create a separate Survey Text File - also titled My Survey Connection, and put a shortcut to it on your PC's desktop.  That will give you quick and easy access to it when you want to add new sites, or update your existing ones, but more importantly it will enable you to reference all of your survey sites in an instant!  The information you save there now will help you so much in the future!  Start by typing your personal email address on the first line beneath the title, because you'll need it for just about every survey you do.  That way you can just copy it once and paste it in whenever you need it, rather than having to retype it repeatedly!

Next, alphabetically list every paid survey site you join.  After the site's name, paste in the URL to their log-in, or Home page, and record your user name (again, usually your email address) and your password.  Try to use the same password for every site, and make it something easy for you to remember - Surveys4Suzie for example.  You might also want to include the date you joined, the way the site pays - points or cash, how much you need in their bank to cash out, and a running total of how much you've earned with them to date.  Once that is done you'll have most of the important information about every one of your sites at your fingertips!  Below is an example of the notes you might want to keep on every site:

Palm Research: http://www.members.palmresearch.com/dashboard : email (your ID)/  password. Pays Cash - $8/10.00 min   Joined: xx-xx-xx  Earned: $170.00  (10.00)

Palm Research is the name of the survey site in this example, and the blue link is where you go to sign in.  Highlight a site's name in color -  as a reminder to yourself to check them everyday if you discover they usually have a survey or two for you to do there, whether you got an invite from them or not!  Also record the manner in which they pay and how much you need to cash out.  In this example you have 8 of the 10 dollars needed to request your next check, followed by the date you joined.  The first $600.00 you earn yearly from each source is tax-free, so you might also like to keep a running total of your YTD earnings with them, and (how much is in the mail.)

If a site pays in points, instead of dollar amounts, make note of that too.  Calculate and record the cash value of their points - that is, how many points equal $1.00, and then how many points are needed to cash out, and for what dollar amount?  This is all good information to have quick access to, as you'll see based on the examples below!

Being Efficient:   This is just one example of why your Survey Text Page is so important.  Imagine you only have time to do one survey, but you have three waiting for you in your email's Inbox.  Each one estimates their survey will take about 15 minutes to complete.  The first one is offering 25 points, the second one pays $1.00, and the third one will reward you with 1,800 points.  How do you decide which survey to do?

You refer to the notes you made in your Survey Text Pages for each of those sites.  In an instant you see that at the first site 10 points = $1.00, or $2.50 for that particular survey.  At the third site you see it takes 3,000 points to equal $1.00, or in this case 60¢ for that survey.  Suddenly, it becomes an easy decision to make, doesn't it?

Over time, as you get familiar with the various survey formats, you'll also realize that more than one survey site might use some of the same survey sources - such as: Samplicio, Ampario, Toluna, SSI (Survey Sampling International), or Gongos - just to name a fewThis is important to recognize because once you complete a survey, although it may be offered by another survey site, it is usually unavailable to do again.

By being able to identify the best survey site from which to do a particular survey type, you could potentially double the amount of money you earn for completing it!  For example:  If you're invited to do a Samplicio Survey from a site that offers you 50¢ for doing their surveys, but you know you have a different site that always pays $1.00 for completing their surveys, and they also have a Samplicio Survey for you, which site would you use?  That's a no-brainer, but that is what you'll learn by doing every survey you can!  In time you'll begin to recognize your opportunities to be selective, and efficient to optimize your earnings!
